Christmas Unwrapped

Tonight we went to our Church's Christmas Event - Christmas Unwrapped. It was a neat event that featured different components of Christmas celebrations. When we first got there, we got to see the Live Nativity. Always cool to see a camel! Then we went inside where each hallway, area and room had something different. The boys were excited to run into Candy Land. There we saw lots of our friends from the Kids Group at church and were able to get candy! We also saw the Grinch and Cindy Lou who - hilarious! They had a green screen where you could put yourself into a Grinch scene / movie. The bigger kids had fun with that.

There was a Victorian hall where there were various scenes in action from Charles Dickens movies / stories and my favorite was Victorian Carolers. We made our way to the cookie / snack room (lots of homemade cookies and snacks) and then listened to all the music. There was also a service going on in the Main Worship Center and traditional carols in the Chapel.

Before we left, we made sure to go into the other Kid Land where there were bounce houses galore! There are several rooms connected with one bounce house in each and the kids just made their way through. Eli & Cole loved it until we got to the last one. Cole had to wait on Eli and that, combined with being totally tired, he fell apart. We headed home and he was asleep in no time in the truck.

We're very lucky to go to a great church that focuses on sharing with the Community and sharing the meaning of Christmas.

Real life CAMEL!
Mary & Joseph with Baby Jesus
I can not wait to find a Nativity Scene for our house for next Christmas.
CANDY LAND!
Cole and his buddy Andrew
The Candy Shoppe - each child / person got to pick out five pieces of candy. They also had a Frosty the Snowman show that we didn't go see but I think it was quite popular.
That would be one yummy huge gingerbread man!
Grinch and Cindy Lou Who
All of the decorations were beautiful
Our friend Mr. Harris....
He always greets the boys with a huge hug and lifts them in the air. They look for him and take off running.
Listening to music in the refreshment room
Happy with cookies
Very cool Victorian carolers
The boys were entertained
Loved experiencing it all with them
FINALLY, the bounce houses!
Wheeeeee
Although they really wanted to just go, go, go....
they did quite well waiting in line and waiting their turn.
But, as I said, Cole wasn't happy at all when he had to wait for the last slide.
But he was happy when he got to do it.
