Week Twenty One: 5/19 - 5/25

Week 21 started off with Tim's birthday!! Monday was his XX birthday.....let's just say that next year is a big milestone year. =) The boys and I woke him up with present and made him some bacon cheddar muffins - his favorite!

We had just a normal week.....swim lessons on Tuesday, school, Eli's field day and then we headed off to the visit Grandma & Grandpa N at the beach Saturday morning.

Yummy watermelon
The boys and I love watermelon...Tim, not so much.
Eli brought home a picture from school where they wrote words and then drew a picture. How perfect....."Store" was Target, complete with the bulls eyes. Can you guess where we do most of our shopping?!
One of my favorite pictures from Field Day. These three are such good friends.
Me and my boy after hot wet field day.

Since it was Memorial Day weekend and Tim & I are big anti-traffic / anti-beach people on holiday weekends, we made a deal to head down Saturday morning (presumably after everyone else in the world would have driven Friday afternoon) and then come home Sunday evening (assuming everyone else in the world would come home Monday). It worked perfectly!! We had a great time visiting with Tim's parents and no traffic woes at all.
Mommy's new bike rack on top of Beluga - family of 4 bikes!
Somehow Cole has gotten so big.
They loved running monster trucks off the step.
I think it's part of their "destructive" gene. They've got strong "destructive" genes because it seems like they try to break EVERYTHING!!
A little calm coloring time. Notice Cole's intense concentration.
Daddy's birthday ice cream cake - Oreo.....yummmmm

Sunday morning: Cole and Eli love to ride around in Grandpa's tractor. I didn't get any pictures of their Saturday tractor excursions but they love it. We had to keep them at bay on Sunday morning because they wanted to go at the crack of dawn.
Roadies!! Tim and I got to go on a road bike ride together.
It was awesome. One minor incident..I had a little tumble when we got back to Tim's parents' driveway. I slid on the sand and wiped out. Thankfully just a few scratches and sore.....probably bruises to come but oh well. They boys were outside when I fell and Cole came running to see if I was ok. So sweet.

After our bike ride, we packed up and headed to Ms. Peggy's house - Tim's Mom's lifelong best friend. Ms. Peggy lives on the water and has wanted us to come visit forever. We went down to her house with Grandma & Grandpa N and had a nice afternoon. Tim and I took the boys (ok I took the boys and Tim took himself) kayaking across the water to our own private island. Eli and Cole LOVED it. They explored and just had a great time. It was much better than being on a super crowded beach with tons of people.
Our own private island - accessible only by kayak.

Tim found a conch shell egg casing.
Look at the baby shells. So cute!

Hermit crab - we did a lot of hermit crab hunting.
Tim was in his happy place.
Cole found a hermit crab.

Daddy and his boys

Cole wrote his name and declared it was HIS beach.

This bird was not happy that we were there. She kept making noises at us. I tried to assure her that we weren't coming to her nest but I guess she didn't trust me.

Mommy paddling the boys back across
They weren't any help.....YET! One day they'll have a paddle in their hands.
Ms. Peggy made us a nice late lunch.
Can you imagine having this view on your porch every day?!
The boys with Ms. Peggy. Thanks for letting us come visit!
We were barely out of Ms. Peggy's driveway and Cole was O-U-T!
They had a super fun afternoon.
Back at Grandma's, we let them take a bath together. This never happens anymore because it's quite the splash production so they had fun with it.
Monkey see....
Monkey do.
Thanks for an awesome visit Grandma & Grandpa. We'll be back soon!!
