Phineas and Ferb LIVE!!

Today we surprised the boys and took them to see Phineas and Ferb, The best LIVE show EVER! Oh my goodness, they were so excited and had such a blast. Phineas and Ferb is on EVERY day in our house and they have their favorite episodes. (Truth be told, Tim and I enjoy watching it too!!) It's so funny to hear Cole say "Whatcha doin'?" to his friends. The show was so much fun. The boys very much enjoyed their surprised and were wiped out when it was over. I'll try to tell about it through pictures.
Perry the Platypus fans - preshow
Before the show started with the set in the background
The show started just like the tv show. Phineas and Ferb were trying to figure out what they were going to do that day. It was the last day of summer, they noticed the big set and thought it would be fun to put on the best LIVE show ever.
Isabella (in pink) and the Fireside Girls. Cole LOVES Isabella - super toddler crush!
Everyone came out of the screen and to life using this slide. It was fun, especially when the Bully got stuck!
Fun dance number
And everyone's favorite, Perry the Platypus!! He made quite an entrance through the crowd.
Secret Agent P getting his orders from Major Monogram.
The cast doing a summer dance number.
Mommy and her boys
Oh my goodness, that face!!! Probably one of my most favorite Cole pictures.
So on the last day of summer, they decided to use the Idea mash up machine to figure out what type of show to put on. Everyone threw out their ideas and they mashed them together.
The Bully wanted Monster trucks and Isabella wanted to roast marshmallows. When they mashed them together, Phineas and Ferb drove marshmallow carts.
But THEN, Bully came out in a Monster Truck with big marshmallow tires. It was so funny and perfect for our Monster Truck loving boys.
Then Baljeet did a Bollywood number with marshmallow boots and gloves.
Jeremy did a golf number with HUGE inflatable golf balls that they threw out / bounced around the crowd (think Jimmy Buffett concert with beach balls bouncing around). All the kids loved it.
Probably one of the funniest was Candace's idea to try on lots and lots of pants to find the perfect pair. She didn't want that idea mashed up with anything. So she found the perfect pair and then they mashed it up with being outdoors. The squirrels attacked her and they did the "Squirrels in my Pants" song from the show.
Eli, being currently obsessed with 'Star Wars' even having never seen it, loved when Perry battled it out with Dr. Doofenshmirtz with light sabers.
Final cast number
Cole fell asleep very quickly on the ride home
Shortly followed by his big brother!

Our Caterpillar Friends

Eli and Cole love to look for (and find and hold) whatever bugs, insects, worms they can find in our backyard. This morning it was caterpillars! Eli has been learning the life cycle of caterpillars at school, as well as raising his own into a butterfly, so he had lots of fun.

Two caterpillars!
Somewhat letting them go free
but with LOTS of supervision.

The Snow Birds return! Weekend with Grandma & Grandpa N

Grandma & Grandpa N have returned from Florida!! We were so excited to have them visit and spend the weekend with us. Tim and I had a little bit of time alone with them on Friday in which we talked about my quilt for Eli's room (me & Tim's mom) and installed outlets in our closet to charge electronics (Tim & his Dad). Then we went to pick up the crazy boys. Eli & Cole were excited to see Grandma & Grandpa N.

Friday night we had a great shrimp dinner and just hung out. Saturday, I took Eli to a birthday party (Happy Birthday Abby!) while Cole hung out with Grandma. We got back in time for lunch and then it was Cole's nap time. Tim's mom and I made a run to Joann's and got out of the house for a bit. Saturday night, Tim & I had a date night and went to the Glenn Beck show (I gave him tickets for Valentine's Day). We had a great time being out alone and it was really nice to have a break from kiddo bedtime. While we were gone, the boys watched 'Cars 2' with Grandma & Grandpa and got some good Grandparent loving.

However, to make up for getting out of bedtime duty, Cole decided to make us do puke duty Saturday night. He got sick in the middle of the night which required changing bedding, cleaning and changing Cole. All done, back in bed then.......not even 20 minutes later, we had to go through it all again. It was not fun! Cole then had a hard time keeping anything down for most of the day on Sunday but after nap time, he was hungry, kept it down and seemed to be over it.

Sunday morning, since Cole had been sick, Eli & I went to church by ourselves. We came back and had lunch with Grandma & Grandpa N before they headed home. The weekend seemed really busy but we had a great time. Welcome back Grandma & Grandpa - we missed you!

Eli got a new roommate Friday night - I love this picture of his face.
His new roommate - Grave Digger Fathead. (His Monster Truck room continues to be a work in progress!)
Pretending to drive the car video game at the birthday party. The intensity on his face is priceless!
Big structures, big fun with friends.
And we had a meltdown
How good friends help us when we're melting down. Evan came over (unsolicited) to check on his friend and talk Eli out of his funk
It definitely worked and they were running and playing again in no time.
Me & Evan's mom. There were lots of dress up hats and glasses at the party. We had to join in!
Evan, Eli & Colin - quite the lineup! They decided not to be in the group picture.
The birthday party gang minus the line up above.
Birthday girl Abby!
Every kid got to keep something from the dress up pile. Eli chose these Mardi glasses. He wore them all day!
We put together this 3d space / planet puzzle. Here's Grandma giving it a look.
And Eli - apparently the 3d worked because Eli was trying to touch a planet.
Movie Night!
Great picture!
Sunday afternoon, Eli & Tim worked on building paper airplanes. Eli is into ALL things boy!!
Cole acting puny - he milked being sick for all it was worth.
Little guitar hero
And a quick weekend project. It took me forever to find Easter baskets that I liked for the boys. I love the brown basket but was not fond of the yellow trim.
So Tim's mom helped me pick out fabric and showed me how to customize them! Love them now - more "boy"ed up and different color for Eli & Cole. The boys love them too. They're pretty big so Easter Bunny better be ready!

2012 Spring pictures

Love picture time! It's hard not to buy a bunch of them because they're so good! Check out my super cuties. =)

It was so funny that Cole came home the first day and told us that he sat on Eli.
Cole has Tim's expression for pictures - hard to get a smile out of him.
Same "smile" - looking all big boy.
Looking like a line backer! My goodness, the cuteness.
Be still my heart - when did you grow up?! Eli looks like he 7 here. Such a big boy pose.
The frog is an adorable addition to the picture. Chillin' on the log.
Wow, wow, wow. All grown up!
