Camping at White Lake

Such a great weekend - camping at White Lake! I remember going to White Lake as a kid but don't remember too much other than that we loved it. And that there was a store/arcade that we would play nickel pinball.

This weekend, we met Grandma & Grandpa N at White Lake for a fun relaxing weekend. We got there Friday afternoon, set things up and then the boys could not wait to go see the water. And, of course, seeing turned into touching....which turned into getting completely soaking wet. And I totally let them. =)
I kept trying to get a good picture of the sunset but this just doesn't do it justice. It was so pretty.

Eli & Cole loved checking it all out.

They got a running start
and dove right in!

Saturday we explored the campground and enjoyed more water play time. And we saw lots of interesting sights - yard sales in the campground, a craft sale and a lady using a filled jug as an "anchor" for her raft in the lake. Kept us laughing all day!
So happy in the water!

Fun in the water - jumps and flips off Mommy's shoulders.

And then it was Cole's turn
Yee-haw!

Saturday night we grilled out and had a birthday dinner / mini-celebration for Eli's upcoming birthday. We're having a smaller party during the week for him so this was a family celebration. Grandma made yummy cupcakes and had candles too! If you are going camping, she knows how to camp right!

'Sup Cole?
This series of pictures cracks me up because it captures these two as brothers so well. Silly, goofy, happy. LOVE THEM!

Happy Birthday Eli!
Make a Wish!
Reading his own card. =)
Thanks Grandpa & Grandma N!!!

Sunday morning, Tim and I went for a road bike ride. I had planned what I thought was a 20 mile ride but it ended up being 26 miles. Normally I'm like a machine on flat roads, which that's all there are down in White Lake, but not today. I was out of gas before we even started and and a really bad ride. But I made it through and will be stronger for it! When we got back to the campground, it was so funny that we saw a bunch of golf carts lined up at the outdoor chapel for church service. Once we got back, the boys needed one more trip to the water before we headed home. They really enjoyed hanging out and exploring in the water. I think we all enjoyed our mini-vacation. =)

Thanks for coming with us Grandpa & Grandma!!
Tried to get a family shot before we left. Cole wasn't very cooperative.
Me and my tired boys. We had a great weekend!!
Wiped out!! They slept a good bit on the way home.
