Snow day - trying to stay sane

Today was a snow day for the boys - no school. In some ways, it was everything a snow day should be - fun at home and staying in pjs all day (Eli). In other ways, it was what you would expect as a parent - seeing how many rabbits you can pull out of a hat to keep everyone happy and busy. Overall, it wasn't too bad of a day.

Tim and I both ended up staying home today. I was supposed to go to work for a meeting right after lunch but it was cancelled fairly last minute so that left us both here. Our day's activities included some tv time, running around the house, playing play-doh, pretending to play air hockey, making chocolate chip cookies, nap time, more play time, monster trucks, dump trucks, a trip to Kohl's for me & Cole, having breakfast for dinner and some reading and coloring. The big surprise of the day was that Santa sent Eli a video message. It was super cool and Eli liked it. (If you haven't seen this yet, take a look at Portable North Pole. Best of all it's free!)

The day had a lot of chaos but was fun. We kept it low key and the boys seemed to enjoy it.

Cole trying to roll his play-doh
and then cutting shapes. He's my little cookie helper in training!
Eli pretending to play air hockey with cotton balls (got to have imagination when trapped inside!).
Eli crawled on the couch pretending to go to sleep. He really just wanted to snuggle and watch tv.
Watching his video message from Santa.
