Week Forty-Nine: 12/1-12/7

Week Forty-Nine and Hello December!! It's starting to really feel like the Holiday Season now.

Monday morning was fun. The boys woke up to open their first Lego Advent piece and Elfie Jim was waiting for them!!
Elfie Jim!
First Legos, then Chocolate!
Monday I also picked up a monogram piece that I had done. A square for my friend Kara's little girl Ruby's baby blanket. I've got to get my rear in gear and finish it!!
Monday evening, we went to a Christmas social sponsored by one of my subcontractors. With the invitation, they tell you that they've "Reserved" a Christmas tree in your name. It's so cool because they bring them in from the NC Mountains and you get to take it home. Another awesome thing is that I got to see my old boss Curtiss - he hired me in 1998 and we still stay in touch.
Eli and Cole in the shop.
Picking out our Christmas tree.
Quick picture from Wednesday morning. This is how they've been starting every day. I love it!!

Friday night, Eli had a Scout Astronomy night so that left me and Cole at home alone. We took out all the Christmas decorations to get ready for decorating our tree.
In the process, we found these great Snowmen headbands that Grandma & Grandpa N gave the boys last year.
Silliness!
Does it get much cuter than a little boy with Snowmen on his head?!

Saturday morning, I managed a 5 mile run before Eli's basketball game and mine & Tim's 24 hour vacation. What? Vacation? Well, we went out of town for my work Christmas party and had Ms. Jamyra spend the night with the boys. It was super weird to go to the party and have a hotel room to ourselves. Very quiet!

Cole just LOVES the basketball games. Can't you tell?
Eli had to guard his buddy AJ during this game.

He definitely gave AJ a run for his money!
Staying with him. Mr. Defense!!
Pre-Party - Mommy and Daddy all slammed up ....oh my goodness, shopping for something to wear this week was awful. I don't usually "do" dress up. I went shopping on my own, got frustrated and had to employ my neighbor Amy to help. I had spotted a jumpsuit that I liked but was too nervous to try it on. Turns out it was perfect! It was comfy and very festive.
At the party. Great band and good food. My first company party at my new job.
Best part of being away....we went out to Breakfast at the Midnight Diner. Back in our normal clothes, getting some yummy food.
The boys did great with Ms. Jamyra; they love her! She asked us what time to wake them up and it made us laugh. We told her that they'd wake HER up, not to worry. And we were right. I think they were in her room by 7am...on Sunday morning! We're so thankful she is able to help us out from time to time.
Sunday night, we finally started decorating the tree. The boys were so excited about the ornaments. Their job was to sort through them and decide which ones they wanted to hang this year.
LIGHTS!
Sweet little helper.
Eli loved helping Daddy with the light strings.
And that's as far as we got tonight. The boys starting acting crazy so we'll have to do ornaments this week. It's a good thing that I'm starting to chill out in my old age because normally I would be all in to get it done in one night. Managing my expectations and trying to keep it happy and fun!!
