Week Thirteen: 3/30-4/5

So much fun this week!! I started back to early morning workouts (Yay Mommy!), the boys went, Cole got to ride a Fire Truck to school, we took the boys to a Hurricanes game and today was Easter! Let's navigate the week through pictures (LOTS OF THEM!)
Tuesday morning, Eli selected his breakfast by using the 1st word he found in the word search. Cereal it is!
Big ole bunny at Target. Funny thing was, I took a picture of myself with the same one last week. =)
It's Art to Remember time.....talk about how to get in a Mommy's checkbook. Cole's picture was a hand holding flowers. (love!)
And Eli's was a super cool city scene. I love how creative the kids can be.

Thursday morning was THE DAY - FIRE TRUCK RIDE TO SCHOOL! Woo hoo. Two years ago, we "won" the fire truck ride to school at the school Silent Auction so Eli could have a fun Kindergarten adventure. We really wanted to do the same for Cole. There was a little "discussion" after we won about who was going with Cole. Sweet boy wanted to invite his two best buddies and didn't want to have to choose between the two since only three kids could go. Eli really wanted to go again but after explaining to Eli that he'd done it before and it was really important to Cole, he elected not to make Cole choose between friends (it wasn't quite that easy, maybe two upset boys but he got there in the end. Nice job buddy!). So we asked Cole's buddies John David and Kyle if they'd like to take a fire truck ride to school. And they were thrilled at the idea! We got to go a little early and the boys got to tour the fire house and meet some of the firemen. We were super excited to see the Dalmatian but turns out there was almost an incident at a function last year and she no longer resides at the fire house. So sad. But she is in a great home so that's good. This was such a neat memory for Cole and his buddies. We're so glad they were able to go!
Kyle, John David and Cole

We did take Eli with us to the fire house so he got to enjoy some of it.
Who doesn't love a fire truck?

These three.....class buddies.
Almost time to go!

We followed the fire truck to school. We had certain rules and had to be RIGHT THERE in case they got a call. If they did and turned their lights/sirens on, we had to jump out and get the boys. Thankfully that didn't happen.

The fire truck TOTALLY jammed up the car pool line. It was hilarious. The driver didn't know you can't do a left turn into car pool....but he did anyway!

That's quite the ride to school.
You can barely see Cole's face but he loved it!
Once in a lifetime experience.
We're so glad they got to do it!
Thursday night Karate
Friday after Y camp - they didn't have school. I wish I could have heard what they were talking about. Brother conversations. =)
Some afternoon water fun on Friday while Daddy washed cars.
Little boy + water hose = trouble!
Look at that nice clean truck. Thanks Daddy!

After they were super muddy and dirty (even after the water hose), I agreed that they could shower together. That was not my best decision. ;-)
Headed to dinner.

Chick-fil-a it is!! Our fav spot. The boys also got new shoes and haircuts on Friday - it was a busy day!

Saturday was more fun! In the morning, the boys dyed Easter eggs with Ms. Amy and other neighbors. Cole had just said on Friday that he wanted to go to a Carolina Hurricanes hockey game and with only a few left in the season, I got busy trying to find tickets. Thankfully, found some cheap tickets on Ticket City. It was fun to go! It was Cole's 1st hockey game and I think Eli's 2nd.
 Dyeing Easter eggs
 They enjoyed dyeing the eggs.

And Cole got in a little drum lesson / practice with Henry.
Boys love noise.
I am a sucker for a foam finger....just sayin'.
Eager little fans.

The Zamboni is always a good time.
Non-zoomed view from our seats. Not back for about $10 each!!

The Hurricanes were winning up until the very end. The game ended in a tie and had to go to a shootout.
Cole was NOT happy at all.
But they ended up winning so all was good!!

Such a fun family time!
Got myself a new bracelet. Love it! I tell the boys that I love them Infinity. Now I have the Infinity symbol with their initials. Yay!
Fun Easter baskets! Cole's basket
Eli's basket
On the dining room table waiting for them. We tell them that their Easter baskets are from us but we let eggs in their rooms be from the Easter Bunny.
They love to wake up and search for eggs.

and see what little treasures are inside.

The Easter Bunny makes sure that the boys don't forget the REAL meaning of Easter.

Soft furry chick

An Easter dinosaur!!

Yes, has to be the ears first!
I think we're all born that way. =)
My handsome boys, oh my!!

Tried a few big camera/timer shots.
Cole was not really feeling the pictures. But I think we look cute.
Then some family selfies.....Cole only participated for one. And he looks thrilled!

Love Easter at Church. A joyful celebration.
After church, the boys worked on garden starters.

Definitely interested in seeds and dirt.

Finishing the day with a movie.
