Vacation Day 7: 1st day at LegoLand!!

Oh my goodness, what a day! LegoLand was awesome!! The day was absolutely beautiful and warm enough without being too hot. We had a yummy breakfast at camp, Eli got a few laps in on his bike and then we were off!

We got to LegoLand shortly after it opened. It was such an amazing place. We were awed by everything. So many things were made out of Legos - life size! We spent a lot of time walking around, taking it all in, seeing a 4D show, exploring Mini-Land (so cool!!) and then finally hitting some roller coasters. Eli rode three of the four roller coasters before we headed out of the park for lunch. We ate lunch and then headed back in to go to the water park. And oh my, that was awesome too! We started off in the small pool area letting the boys explore and then headed to the larger ones. Eli and Cole both had fun going down slides and splashing around.

The day was so much fun and we all had a blast. Funny story - shortly after we got into LegoLand, my camera wouldn't take any more pictures. Turns out I had filled up my memory card! I had taken so many pictures so far on vacation and had not downloaded them that I ran out of space. I had batteries with me but not a spare memory card! I ended up deleting some pictures to make room and thankfully captured our awesome day!

Eli loved having the freedom to ride laps at our camping site.
LegoLand - paradise for little boys!
My Lego-loving so excited boys
Here we go!
There were so many cool Lego statues.
SO many things made from Legos!
I fell in love with these little stuffed Lego men in the gift shop. Neither of the boys wanted one so I settled for a picture.
Near the bathrooms, this plumber was made of Legos AND he talked!
Eli loves Star Wars - and is waiting for the day he can actually watch it!
The carousel was our first ride and the boys loved it. Just look at their faces!
Hey Boys!
We found Mini-Figure man! Eli got lots of comments about his LegoMan shirt.
Waiting for the 4d movie.
The boys loved watching the Clutch Powers movie.
Mini-Land was incredible - I took tons of pictures!
Space Shuttle

Another cool pirate ship - they moved and battled each other!
Checking it all out - look at all those monuments!

White House, including the First Family
Amazing Vegas Hotel
Vegas Luxor Hotel - sphinx and pyramid
I thought the benches and trash cans were neat - all made from recycled materials.
Capitol Building - there was even a Lego marching band
Statue of Liberty
Just like he was really in DC  =)
Guggenheim Museum (I went to the real one when I was in college - so cool!)
Chrysler Building
The Washington Monument - Real one is 555 feet tall and weighs 81,210 tons. The Lego one only weighs 129 pounds.
Jefferson Memorial
Golden Gate Bridge - San Francisco, CA
Lombard Street - San Francisco, CA
Lego Wood
Hollywood Bowl - world famous amphitheater, home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. It took 47,000 Lego pieces and 600 hours to build. It also had music playing.
The boys were so excited to see Star Wars scenes.
The Millenium Falcon was so cool.
You pushed a button and it lit up and moved up & down.
More battles.
Life Size Darth Vader Lego
Everyone's pal - Lego R2D2
Lego Darth Maul - Eli was hilarious trying to act like each figure.
Cole's ready to drive
Eli can't be left behind
Looks like a Ford Explorer right? It reminded us of our neighbor Amy's new truck - except this one is ALL Legos! And it was a full size replica!!
Fun at the water rides - this Octopus is complete Legos and it has Lego Scuba Divers on it.
This was next to the Octopus. The boys loved that when you pressed the button, water would spray up like a geyser and get the people on the ride wet.
This was Eli's first roller coaster.
A view of the other end of the coaster - Eli LOVED it!!!
LOVED this spotty Lego dog.
We watched a Fire Safety show.
Posing as a knight
Mid morning - grabbed a quick shot of the entrance with my Lego-loving boys.
There were animals in the water area that you could adjust the spray - here Eli is spraying another little boys with the elephant trunk.
Cole had fun getting wet by the polar bear.
Sliding into the pool - both boys had fun with this. It went into a shallow pool so they could stand up.
Building his raft for the lazy river
Grabbing more Lego blocks as we floated
THIS is the life Mom!!
Eli & Daddy took a turn
So Cole & I could go together.
He's just your size Cole!!
The AWESOME water structure. The bucket at the top would fill up and spill onto everyone around.
Eli loved being tall enough to go down the bigger slides on his own.
S-P-L-A-S-H!
Wave pool - the shark and diver were both all Legos!
Guess who had fun at LegoLand today?!
