Happy Birthday Cole-man!

We had SO much fun today celebrating Cole's 2nd birthday. I know it's the 4th of July but we focused on Cole!! Of course, his banner, a balloon and presents were waiting for him when he woke up. I made homemade chocolate pancakes, served with powdered sugar and whip cream for breakfast - they were YUM! Cole was most interested to eat when he got up so we gave him presents from us and Eli after breakfast. Cole was super super happy with the big plastic dump truck that Eli gave him that he hardly cared about his Tow Mater Bubble Blower. I'm not kidding - that boy was thrilled with the dump truck and started running around the house immediately. (Eli thought Cole needed a dump truck to match his and the funny thing is that Cole "brought" Eli his dump truck when he was born! They gave them to each other.) Mid morning we took the boys to see 'Cars 2'. I wish I had a million pictures of this. Cole was in full-on movie mode. He sat in his booster and ate and ate and ate popcorn. He finished his cup of popcorn and then started stealing it from Tim's bag. Hilarious! He also had a few M&Ms and goldfish. He really loved movie eating! Part way through, birthday boy fell asleep but Eli watched the entire movie. With all the previews, it was kind of long for him but he did great. When we got home, we let Cole open his birthday cards from the Grandparents. (I tried to spread goodies out throughout the day.) Cole, since he napped at the movies, did not nap at home but Eli did so we played with Cole and he got some solo attention. After Eli got up, the boys and I went to the Y pool for a bit before the storm came in. We enjoyed red / white / blue birthday cupcakes (made by Mommy) after dinner and then let Cole open his presents from Aunt Cary. I'm telling you what, Cole had an awesome 2nd birthday!! He was pooped out and in bed early. That was just the start because his party is this weekend.
