Today was a very exciting day - Eli and some friends got to ride to school on a FIRE TRUCK! A real fire truck!! This was one of the silent auction items at Eli's school sock hop. It seemed like the coolest thing ever to do so a friend and I decided to join forces to win the ride. It worked out perfectly!
The prize was to ride the fire truck from the fire station to school - probably a 5 mile ride. We got to the fire station and got to look around and meet Higbie - their resident dalmatian. Oh that made my heart so happy, some spotty dog lovin'. I do miss my sweet spotty Belle. =) We got to see the area where the fire trucks park, see their gear, their daily checklist and check out the trucks. Super cool! We took Cole with us so he could see the fire station but of course, he wanted to ride too. We told him we'd try to win when he gets in school. It was a super cool ride and we told Eli that he's now done something that Mommy & Daddy haven't done. Of course, when we got to school, we jammed up the car pool line but that was ok. Eli, Lucas and Adam were superstars for the day!
