Today's plan....HERSHEY!! This is the part of our trip that the boys have been most looking forward to. We decided to purchase two day tickets (thankfully we don't have to use them consecutive days) so we'll go back probably Thursday for Day 2. Grandma & Grandpa just planned to go the first day with us. And boy oh boy, what a super fun day it was!!!
After breakfast, we got coolers and stuff packed to drive to Hershey. The drive wasn't bad and we got there just a few minutes before the park opened. It was all perfect timing. We had such an awesome day riding rides, playing games, checking it all out. The park was the best amusement park I've ever been to - it was super clean and there were rides and things to do for all ages. We had looked at the map ahead of time and knew that the kids would each have a candy bar designation for their height - Eli was a Hershey bar and Cole was a Reese cup. When they came to a ride, they just had to look for their candy bar symbol to know if they could ride. It was so cool! We spent the morning riding rides - Grandma & Grandpa even rode a big roller coaster - and then headed to the truck for a late lunch. We decided to cool off with some time exploring Chocolate World and then it was back to the roller coasters! The fun is best shown in pictures....you know this Momma loves a good picture!
The boys played Go Fish with Grandma & Grandpa.
My little Reese Cup
And my big Hershey bar!
Eli so wanted to be a Twizzler so he could ride the big rides....not long. I bet he'll be that tall by the time we come back. Because we'll DEFINITELY be coming back!
Sooper Dooper Looper - Eli rode his first upside down roller coaster!! He rode it first with me and then a second time with Grandma. And he loved it!
On the Sweet Swing
On the other side of the Sweet Swing. =) Cole loved this and it took him a while to warm up to rides so we let him start off on whatever he wanted.
The Frog Hopper was very cute - it pulled them up to the top and then hopped down.
Oh how they desperately wanted a Minion. But it didn't happen. =(
In the Kiss Tower
View of the park - so much fun stuff to do!
Grandma & I rode the big red coaster together
and this big yellow one. Eli SO wanted to ride them. He said he wasn't scared.
All smiles but the boys called this ride a dud when they got to. Too baby.
I have no idea what they were talking about but these shots in the spinning drum crack me up.
Cole's first little coaster
He loved it and was then ready for more!
On the big Pirate ship
Let's go get some chocolate!
Embracing their Hershey and Reese status - we did end up buying them smaller versions of these as their new sleep toys.
Who wants a 5 pound Hershey bar? Um...me. But not for $40!
How about a 1 pound Hershey kiss?
Taking the Chocolate Factory tour ride.
"It says here Please Remain Seated" - Eli making sure Cole followed the rules.
Carousel ride with Grandma
Eli was so excited to see the Hershey bar that he ran to give him a hug. I barely caught this shot. The boys used to be scared of costume/mascot folks but they fully embraced the candy bars. It was so much fun!!
Grandma & I had to get our pictures made too!
This was so sweet - after the ride was over, Eli helped this little girl get out of the dinosaur. Such a gentleman?
Tilt-a-whirl. Mommy could only do this one once.
Grandma loves the Tilt-A-Whirl.
Eli's upside down loop
We got Daddy on a little coaster!!
This is awesome!!!
Such a super awesome great day!!
After the park we stopped at Pizza Hut and devoured a lot of pizza. We were all hungry and happy. Everyone was tired and ready for rest when we got back. Another fun day tomorrow!
