Week Forty-Eight: 11/24-11/30

Week Forty-Eight: a HOLIDAY week!!! We had such a great somewhat laid back week.

The boys only had school Monday and Tuesday and went to the Y for a fun day on Wednesday. No basketball this week, only one karate class and swim for Cole. Made for much less running around and more relaxing after work. =)

Wednesday morning, I made a pit stop by JoAnn's on the way to work. They started their 'Black Friday' specials on Wednesday morning. Sadly enough (or not really!), the one place I want to go on Black Friday is the fabric store. I was able to go early Wednesday before going in to work and get what I wanted. Lots of baby sewing coming up!
I will often have a VitaTop muffin top for my morning snack at work. Wednesday, I was greeted by this cool smiling muffin top. =)
Cole was super cute using his marker phone to call his buddy Luke and coordinate time for Gingerbread House building this weekend. Looks like they decided on 2pm!
Special request chocolate chip cookie cake for Thanksgiving dessert. YUMMY!

Thanksgiving Day was a fun low-key lazy day at home for us. The boys really enjoyed just doing whatever. I did manage to go on a 4.5 mile run in between rain sprinkles before getting started on cooking our big dinner. I also managed to do some online Christmas shopping while it was rain sprinkling. =) Amongst my cooking, the boys hung out, watched some TV and just enjoyed the day. The funniest thing was at dinner, Cole realized and remarked that he was still in his PJs. Now, that's a good day when you can wear your PJs all day!! We are abundantly blessed and have so much to be thankful for not just on Thanksgiving but every day!

Brother time watching tv.
The boys were watching the Spartan World Championship and Eli was hauling his archery target up and down the stairs. Doing a little indoor training of his own!

Friday morning, I did a little shopping - I think I went to Kohl's and Target (of course!). Also did our Black Friday Race Entries! Signed us up for a Trail Run in January (me - 13.1 miles, Tim - 4 miles) and then signed Tim (and the boys!!) up for Spartan Races in 2015. Tim is going for this Trifecta!! After all that shopping, we headed down to see Grandma & Grandpa N for a quick visit. We even let the boys sleep together (usually not done) and they did great!

Love this from the "Wall of Shame" - the man I married, HB love of my life. (Thankfully the mustache is gone now.)
Peeler bead fun!
The Thanksgiving Day Battle of 2015 in front of Grandma's Snoopy Tree.
Oh my gosh, he looks so big! And kinda blends in with Grandma's couch. =)
Special treat - screen time on Mommy & Daddy's phone.
Outside - Spartan Training.
I love their energy and enthusiasm (most of the time!!).
Then it was time for pinewood car building with Grandpa.
They really enjoyed working with Grandpa in his shop.
Great job Cole!!
Being boys.....
It's all fun and games until your little brother pins you to the ground.
Listening to Grandpa's radio.
They were so excited to try out his headphones.

It was a really quick visit and we were back for more fun at home on Sunday. Church and then Cole has his Gingerbread Building session with his buddy Luke. A fun afternoon!!!
I was a volunteer in Preschool this morning and had the great pleasure of meeting Sharon, a missionary sponsored by our Church. She and her husband are missionaries in Nigeria working to translate the Bible into languages the people there can understand. She told me that there are 500 different languages there!
It's time! Gingerbread House Decorating - 5 year old style!!

Nice photo bomb Eli.
Busted!! Luke snagging a treat. =)
Luke's Mom, Allison. We enjoyed making them too. Perhaps next year we'll have Moms versus Kids in decorating. I even have visions of one day making them from scratch - baking the actual houses and assembling them instead of using a kit. But notice I said ONE DAY. Who knows when, or if, that will ever happen!

Luke and Cole. Little Cuties!
Best Buddies - they had so much fun.
Cole's creation....with some icing placement help from Mom.

When things finally calmed down from the holiday....we had the boys sit on the couch for a surprise.
This is like kiddie torture!
1st time ever - Lego Advent Calendars. They loved them!
Love Cole's face here.
December Countdown is going to be even more fun this year!! (But they still have to have their chocolate advent calendars too!)
The boys set them up in the dining room so they can open / build each morning. Before Tim & I went to bed, we noticed a visitor had showed up. Tomorrow is December 1st so it's time for Elfie Jim to be back. The boys will be excited!!
