Saturday was a fun day. It, of course, started off with some Saturday morning cartoons (Phineas and Ferb). Grandma cooked us a great breakfast and the boys ran around their house / yard / Grandpa's shop exploring all they could. Mid afternoon we took the boys to the fort and the beach. We thought we'd explore the fort and then just walk on the beach but they chose the beach. Then we expected they would just put their feet in the water and play in the sand. Wrong there too! They were completely soaked! The water was pretty cold but they didn't care. Last year, they were both scared of the ocean. This year they conquered it. It was so much fun watching them and it was especially great that it tired them both out. Cole was asleep and snoring before we really got out of the parking lot! We had a nice dinner and got the boys to bed really early - this time in separate beds.
And, of course, I took LOTS of pictures (why do you think there are 3 posts to cover the weekend?!).
Grandpa supervising the work in his shop
Sweet builder boys
Measuring to see how long the board is
and then measuring Grandma too!
Eli's boat
Perry the Platypus fans
The goldfish is no longer in the pond so the boys played with their trucks in it.
Driving Grandpa's tractor - I'm sure Grandpa will put him to work for real one day!
Swinging with Grandpa
They had fun riding around the yard in Grandpa's trailer.
Afternoon ice cream treat
All the boys
Ice cream - the messier, the yummier!
Headed to the beach
They were so excited
I think Tim was happy too that they loved it
Toes in the water.....toes in the sand.....
Beach running
Family photo using the self timer on the camera
A little more wet
And a LOT more wet! (It really was super cold!)
I love the facial expressions I was able to capture on camera.
Running, jumping and splashing
Little beach bum in the making
Big ocean, two little boys
Mommy & Daddy self portrait
We managed to play in the sand a bit, making some sandcastles before Cole-zilla kicked them over.
Eli absolutely loved the water and the waves.
My sweet boys
Happy Wet Eli
Cole gathering seashells
Mommy & her boys
This pictures cracks me up - Cole was running away from the waves and watching them chase him.
Eli the fearless, standing his ground against the big waves.
Love it!
Family photo
Play turned into throwing water on each other with cups
and then with buckets.
Daddy even got in on the action.
He also helped Cole get Eli back. It was hilarious.
Worn slam out - head drooped and snoring.
Tired boy too - sun, sand and water. A great combination to make tired boys!
A little evening tv together.
