The boys were out of school today so we used this afternoon to get our garden prepped for planting. This involved a little more weeding and adding soil to our plant boxes. The boys were helpers when they wanted to be but mostly loved being outside and seeing what creatures we could find.
Our turtle buddy that we found just outside the garden gate
Cole wanted to sit in Daddy's shed alone to have his snack. Notice the scratch under his nose to this lip where Eli tagged him with a pole. I'm not sure how it happened but there were definitely blood and tears.
I finally convinced the boys that we should let the turtle loose. He went as far away as possible as fast as his little turtle legs would take him!
And then we found a frog!
The boys followed him around and tried to make him jump....again, until I had to rescue him and send off on his way safely.
Supervising Daddy's tilling operation
Cole decided to get a closer look. We have a great Quality Control team.
Lawn claws!
Eli did great helping pick up piles of weeds with the lawn claws. (Lowe's $10, these things are great!)
Cole used them to make a "Clap-i-na-tor". He was so funny walking around the yard.
New soil!! The garden is ready for planting. Hopefully next week!
