Memorial Day bike ride

Great weather + Day off = Family Bike Ride!!

Today we took off to the Neuse River Greenway for a family bike ride. Eli was eager to beat his last ride of 7 miles and Cole was excited to try out the trail-a-bike. Both boys really love going on rides which makes Mommy & Daddy REALLY happy! It was such a fun time. We saw lots of folks in the river on kayaks and tubes. When the boys get a little bigger, we'll try some of that too.

His bike skills have increased so much over the past few months. It IS much more fun to ride when you're good at it. =)

Eli got lots of comments on his climbing ability. He just dances on the pedals and smoothes his way up the hill. He will be unstoppable when he gets gears!

Cole didn't contribute much pedaling to Daddy's load but he sure was happy and had fun.

On the way back, Eli dropped a little bit behind. He had been riding really hard. 

His signature - two different colored socks. You'll definitely be able to pick him out of the peloton!

He was tired but made it back - over 9 miles total!!

Eli figured out how to lock down his breaks and skid his back tire. He had so much fun doing that that he wore all the tread off his tire and had a flat! Daddy the bike mechanic to the rescue!!

Garden.......finally planted

This weekend we (Tim) finally got our garden planted. Life has been so busy that we're a little behind this year. Hopefully we'll still have some garden yummies to enjoy!

Bicycle Skills

Eli and Cole have been working on their bike skills - it's an almost-nightly thing around here. Eli especially likes to try tricks and pretends to take water bottles and give us high fives. We love watching them and love that they enjoy bike riding. Lots of great bike fun in our future!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

So much to celebrate - last week Mother's Day, today Daddy's Birthday!!! We won't say exactly how old Daddy is but let's just say he's older the Mommy, Eli and Cole all put together. =) We let Daddy sleep in this morning and made him coffee and bacon cheddar muffins (that alone made him HAPPY!). Then the boys were so excited to give him presents - a few shirts and a new sport watch. Tim's parents came up to celebrate as well and it was great to see them. We hung out and the boys were, what else, full of energy! We hope that Daddy had a great birthday!

Mother's Day 2013

Mother's Day is always so much fun. The boys work hard to treat me special and today was no exception. We had a nice breakfast and went to church. We hung around the house all afternoon and the boys were pretty good. They rode their bikes in the road and I was able to sit and watch. While they played, Tim went and picked up an iPhone for me. Yay!! It's kinda nice that one day is named for us Mothers but every day is Mother's Day to me. The boys bring fun, lots of love and crazy into my life.....and I wouldn't have it any other way! (although peace and quiet sometimes would be nice!)

Tim relocated our mail box post. He had put a new one in for me a few weeks ago but then PSNC came through our yard, took it down and put it back too far from the road. My hard working man!
