Week Twelve: 3/23-3/29

This week was supposed to be Spring Break. But thanks to all the cold, ice and winter weather, the boys only got Thursday and Friday off. Glad we didn't plan a Spring Break Vacation this year!

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were normal school day with evening activities (swim, karate). Monday Cole had a dentist appointment and, uh-oh, he has a small cavity. Had to make an appointment to get it filled - definitely using nitrous and the ceiling mount tv on him.

Thursday and Friday were Y Days. Thursday, Cole's group got to go check out the Fire Station. Super cool! The boys love being at the Y with their friends and the counselors are so wonderful. Thursday night we also started feeding / taking care of our Ms. Amy's cats while they are out of town. The cats aren't allowed in their playroom so Cole made a "No Kitties Allowed" sign to let the cats know they aren't allowed up there. He taped it on the door to the playroom so I'm sure they read it and it kept them from opening the door. ;-)

Friday was super fun. We brought Cole's buddy Luke home with us. The boys had a fun time playing and we made cookies. How can you not be happy with cookies?!

Saturday, Tim took Eli to a Scout event at Bennett place. Kinda neat for them to tie last week's reenactment together. In the evening, we watched 'Night at the Museum 3' as a family. Great movie! The boys loved it. We're just starting to watch select non-animated movies. This series will always be a favorite.

This morning, I got up SUPER early to be at Umstead for the Umstead 100. I had to be there at 4:30am. Yikes!! I always love this event and love helping the runners fulfill their dreams. Every year I say it but I'm so much happier helping others fulfill their 100 mile running dreams than trying again. Not for me. =)

I also got a little crafty today and made the boys an "Admit One" ticket shadowbox. Kind of a fun way to keep some memories. They loved them!!

And we're off to another week....they are flying by!

Cole and Mom under the rainbow. With leprechauns trying to get to the pot of gold. (this is posted in my office)
Little b-ball action with Eli Tuesday night. Mommy's still got it!
Thursday Cole & Eli were playing basketball. Apparently when you don't like how things are going, you just sweep away the court.
So excited to watch NCSU basketball. Loved these cookies at Harris Teeter.

Friday after Y camp - Luke, Eli, Cole. Such cute cargo.
 Go Pack!!
 SUPER early Sunday morning.
The aid station I volunteer at has the biggest spread of food you've seen.
And it has changed and evolved over the many years I've been volunteering.
 The racers definitely appreciate it.

"Admit One" ticket box. Hopefully it will hold lots of adventures.
 Tim surprised me with flowers.
Fresh flowers always make me happy.

Week Eleven: 3/16-3/22

Spirit Week!! This week was Spirit Week at the boys' school.

Monday = Pajama Day
Tuesday = Mix Match Day, we opted for Green day
Wednesday = Team Sports Day (Go Panthers!!)
Thursday = Grade Colors, Green for Kindergarten and Red for 2nd grade
Friday = I forgot what this one was

We celebrated St. Patty's Day on Tuesday with fun surprises from Mommy the Leprechaun. Cole came home with a paper titled "If I were a leprechaun". I can't find it right now but I will search. It was pretty cute.

Cole has grown....a lot. He had to wear Eli's clothes for Pajama Day and Color Day. Guess I've got some clothes / drawer rearranging to do!

Aside from school Spirit fun, we had Swim on Monday and Wednesday, karate on Tuesday and Thursday and fun home night Friday. Thursday night Cole got compliments from Master Hansley on his hard work and progress. Yay Karate Cole!!

Saturday, Tim and Eli went to Bentonville for the 150th celebration and reenactment of the Battle of Bentonville. They had a great time. While they were gone, Cole & I met up with his buddy Luke (and Luke's mom!) for a hike at Umstead. We all had a great day and were tired when it was over.

Sunday was church, house stuff and we wrote a letter to our friend in Malawi. Such a fun week!

And now the best part.......PICTURES! Lots of them!

Pajama Day - Cole had grown out of all of his pjs, so these came from Eli's drawer!
A little Mommy walk on Monday night.
Pretty sunset
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Mommy the Leprechaun was here.
St. Patty's Day lunch.
Fun straws are always a hit

Mommy feeling the green love too. I LOVE this flower pin. It was given to me by my Great Grandma. I'm not sure who it belonged to or how she got it but I do know that she gave it to me. And I'll have it forever. =)
And the green shoes!! Only brave enough to wear these once a year.
Tuesday night karate
Karate Cole!
Team Sports Day - Love these little Panther fans

Thursday - 2nd grade was red and Kindergarten was green. They're wearing the same size shirt!!
My Facebook post from Thursday night. Hilarious that Cole asked for a porcupine. It was the cutest exchange. Love him!
Quilt block for a special little boy
Out to dinner Friday night. Being Silly. Waiting for Daddy and our food.
Such good buddies
Cole and Luke
Just sitting....and thinking.....by the creek. =)
Pretending to fish
Mommy and her hiker boy.

Next up, Battle Reenactment pictures that Tim took. I wasn't there so don't have much commentary other than Eli and Tim both had a great time. Tim said it was very interesting. and a LOT of people were there. And Eli let me know that a horse got spooked and ran off during the show. The people who play the characters are dedicated, that's for sure.

There is no way I could dress like this.

Sunday I finally finished a blanket for my friend Kara's little girl, Ruby. She was born last month so I'm a little late but I'm sure it will be loved nonetheless.
