GO PACK!

Oh my goodness, such a fun family day! As part of their Christmas present, Tim and I took the boys to their VERY FIRST NC State football game. We originally thought about a basketball game but since they are gung-ho football players, we thought this would be more fun. And then we were able to get Education tickets at a good price that gave some money back to Eli's school so it was perfect. To top it all off, our friends Mark & Brandy (Matthew & Jack's parents) gave us their parking pass so we were hooked up with an awesome tailgating spot around nice people.

The boys were super jazzed for the game. With it being kinda chilly, Tim ran to Target last night and got some long underwear for the boys. We layered up and stopped by Chick-fil-a on the way to the stadium. I have not been to an NC State game in a LONG time (pre-kiddos) and when we went, we were spoiled with Dail Club seats and preferred parking so we weren't really sure what we were doing. Not realizing that all parking near Carter Finley was permit sent me on a frenzied search for a parking pass for the game last week. Thankfully, Mark & Brandy graciously gave us their parking pass so we were hooked up. We found our space and the boys jumped out to start tailgating and throwing the football. I think boys are made for tailgating....they know how to play and have fun at any sporting event. I guess they just perfect it as they get older!

After some play time and an early lunch, we headed to Carter Finley Stadium to watch our Pack play Maryland. Eli loved everything from the word go. Thankfully, it wasn't too crowded near our seats so the boys could have a little freedom and wiggle room. Cole didn't need that wiggle room the 1st quarter as he napped on Daddy's lap. I have no idea how he slept hunched over in a ball but he must have been quit comfy. Eli yelled at the game just like a super fan and he amazed me at his grasp of the game....already, at 6 years old!! Unfortunately the game did not go our way and Maryland walloped up on us, final score 41-21. We decided to leave early and Eli sure was not happy about that. He didn't care about the score, he only cared that he was watching football.

The game was so much fun for all of us. Tim & I talked about it and we can definitely see season tickets in our future one day. We never would have thought about that on our own but with football loving boys, it seems inevitable! We're already looking forward to taking them to their first Carolina Panther's game too - that one is slightly more expensive so we'll wait a little longer for that!

Time to go in Carter Finley!!
Love this picture!
And this one!! Wolfies up!
So we weren't exactly in the "front row" but we had great seats in the end zone near the jumbotron. And thankfully we were in the sun because it would have been chilly in the shade. There were folks actually trying to get folks to move down into the lower seats (in the shade) but no takers!

Here comes our PACK!
Let's go Wolfpack!
Eli loved every single second of the game and he was cheering like a true fan. =)
Cole however, slept through the 1st quarter

Wolfpack Family - if I hadn't already ordered Christmas cards, this TOTALLY would have been our picture this year. Love it!

Eli watched the entire game with serious fan dedication. He was completely bent out of shape when we left with 4 minutes to go - "But they're still playing football".

A very thankful Thanksgiving

Whew.....a very busy day!! We had such a great Thanksgiving - a quick day trip to celebrate with Evia's family. We left out a little after 8am and got home about 8pm. The boys did fairly well on the drive and amazingly, we drove 3 hours with no bathroom stops!!

First visit was to Evia's Grandpa and Grandma S's house. We had a big family lunch there with my grandparents, brothers / their wives / kids and my uncle, aunt and their kids. So much fun to see everyone! I remember going to my Great Grandparent's house for Thanksgiving and eating lunch, raking leaves and watching football on tv (usually Cowboys vs. Redskins). We didn't rake any leaves but my boys got to see their Great Grandparents and play football!

My Grandparents house - a lot of memories made here
Cole and "his" baby, Kaleb
Of course we had to take the football (and helmets!) with us!
Eli had fun playing catch with Uncle Jeff.
This boy loves some football!

First course of Thanksgiving - lemon lime punch.....YUM!
Eli and Cole found a Total Gym to "work out" on. It was pretty funny to see.
Outside after lunch, Eli watched over "his baby" Keegan
and Cole was so sweet with Kaleb.
And he looks so HUGE compared to his little cousin.
So sweet!
My brother Jeff, my SIL Erin and their sweet boys.
Cousins! Eli with Keegan and Cole with Kaleb. They take their big cousin status very seriously and want to make sure "their" baby is happy.
Grandpa C with Baby Connor - this is my little brother Billy's boy.
Eli was ALL about dessert this year - ice cream pie and coconut cake. My favorites!!
They went exploring with Grandpa C. It's a lot of fun as they get bigger and want to do more things.

Love my Aunt Val. Wish I got to see her more often.

Funny family photo on the front steps - Cole with crazy shut eyes and looks like Eli gave me bunny ears.
Then Cole kept his crazy shut eyes and now Tim & I both have bunny ears - classic!
Thankful for my family!

Then we headed to Grandma C's (aka Huggy Grandma because she gives everyone a hug) to visit with her. The boys were pretty wound up so some running around outside tired them out before we drove back home.

Baby Connor with his Great Grandma C
Grandpa C with three of his grandsons - hard to believe Eli is the oldest of FIVE grandsons!!
Hey there Hollywood!

I think Eli fell asleep before Cole did!

So......at the end of this day, what am I thankful for? There are so many things to count. I'm thankful for a wonderful husband who is a great partner and father to our boys. I'm thankful for two healthy (and crazy!) boys who bring so much joy to our lives. I'm thankful to celebrate another Thanksgiving with my Grandparents. I'm thankful the boys have four Grandparents who love them so. I'm thankful for health and happiness. I'm thankful for friends and family to share life with. To be honest.....I try to be thankful every day, not just today! I want to live with a heart of gratitude and appreciate the life I'm blessed with.

Happy Thanksgiving to our family and friends. May God continue to bless you. We are ever so thankful for YOU!
